Patricia Urquiola Highlands Seating Collection
Highlands's narrative path is the natural continuation of the language
expressed through Lowland. Once again we interact with a type of "seating" which communicates through modular systems but also through
its unique configurations. Highlands "focus" element is movement, its
possible verticality, a theme which, in recent years, has been little
addressed.
Armrests and backs have two possible positions and their
movement is sinuous, fluid, almost organic, never mechanical or
performing. Thanks to the plasticity of each element modularity is the
obvious end result. Surfaces make a strong impact through their covers,
their style, and the extreme detail paid to the seams as well as the
careful attention taken in manufacturing them.
Table-poufs, featuring an impeccable upholstered body
and a metal-textured top, may be found either freestanding or
integrated in the configurations. Characteristics Collection Highlands
has completely loose covers except coffeetables (codes 0AL - OCY) and
is not available with pattern repeat fabrics. Seat in wooden frame covered with
stress-resistant polyurethane foam at varied densities and polyester
fiber. Back and armrests, steel, cold foam injected polyurethane with
reclining device, covered with polyester fiber.
Table tops are in DECO
stainless steel plate electrochemically stained. Feet, screwed to the
frame, are in black polypropylen. Elements can be linked together with
a black ABS jointing device.
