Equipo Santa & Cole Escritorio de Federico Table
A sizeable double-sided desk with ten drawers. Handmade to preserve the
spirit that inspired Federico García Lorca's works. Federico García
Lorca's room at Huerta de San Vicente was sparsely furnished. He had
only the most essential furniture, including a desk. It is solid and
evocative, a desk that has retained something of the spirit of its
owner. In the summer of 1926, the first the Lorca family spent at La
huerta, Federico was working on Romancero Gitano (Gypsy Ballad).
In
1932, during his first twenty days at La huerta, he dashed off the
third act of Bodas de Sangre (Blood Wedding). Everyone who was there
remembers that summer well. Federico listened endlessly to Bach's
Cantata 140, alternating it now and then with soleás by Tomás Pavón.
You will never own Federico's writing desk. But you can own an
exquisite piece of furniture which is an authorized replica of Lorca's
desk produced by a cabinet maker of the old school. This sizeable
double-sided desk with ten drawers was built using the same technique
used in the original, in solid walnut with chestnut details. The
result: a superb, flawless copy of García Lorca's original writing
desk. Special order only Reproduction of the original furniture item
