The Chicago Athenaeum is an International Architecture and Design Museum located in the most important city in the world for design and modern architecture: Chicago. Founded in 1988, it is specialised in all the disciplines involved in the art of designing: architecture, industrial and product design, graphic design and urban planning.

Since 1950, The Chicago Athenaeum annually grants the GOOD DESIGN awards, acknowledging international designs that are outstanding due to their conceptual originality. In the 2005 edition, a distinguished international jury acknowledged the work of Modiss by granting the award in the illumination category to the TYBO model. In the summer of 2006, it will be possible to visit the annual exhibition of the awarded designs in The Chicago Athenaeum.

Designed by Alfonso Fontal, the TYBO lamp reminds us of a four-leaved clover: unusual, both rounded and slender at the same time, full of light and life. In white opal with a chrome structure; a sophisticated combination of spheres that evoke its organic concept, inspiring a fantastic visual sensation.
