Ramón Bigas - Ramón Stacking Chair
The Ramón is a light, stackable chair that is equally suitable for
exterior and interior use. With a metallic structure and wicker seat
and back, this young, unusual design was created by Ramón Bigas
Balcells in the 60s. Ramón Bigas Balcells is a revolutionary designer.
Currently director of the FAD designers' association, in the 80s he
founded AD, a company that specialized in carrying out complete design
projects. He designed this chair for his own home and to be used by his
own circle of friends, but it has always only been available through
the most select outlets. The chair frame is made from a slender
high-strength steel rod which gives the design its beautifully
functional form.
The Ramón, named after its designer is ergonomically
designed to provide excellent back support and superb comfort whether
sitting at a table or elsewhere. The steel frame gives aesthetic form
to the chair and is ingeniously used to create a single but striking
lattice beneath the seat. The Ramón chair is not only light but can be
easily stacked to save space. Both its zinc-coated metallic surface and
imitation wicker are waterproof, making it a durable outdoor chair.
