Mikado is a modern expressive interpretation of the 18th-century Windsor chair. The chair is constructed using the same principle as the Windsor chair, whereby the seat holds both the back and the legs.

In the new, dynamic and lightweight version, however, there is no comb on the back, nor are there any horizontal spindles between the chair legs. This lends the chair a beautiful peacock effect, which looks a bit like Mikado sticks just before they fall to the ground.

Mikado comes in solid beech or beech/walnut, lacquered or leached, with solid walnut back spindles and legs. The chair also comes with a standard cushion, which is finished in flax or leather.
