We picked 40 products from 20 young (well, under 40) and talented designers all around the world who made it to respectable Wallpaper Power 200 designer list. This is some of their work.
Paul Cocksedge Studio
Paul Cocksedge Studio was founded in London in 2004 by Paul Cocksedge and Joana Pinho. Their clients include V&A, London Design Festival, NHS, Swarovski, BMW, Hermès, City of Lyon, Wellcome Trust and Sony.
Pauline Deltour is a French designer working from her Paris studio. She worked as a designer and a project leader at Konstantin Grcic Industrial Design in Munich and opened her own studio there in 2009. Her clients include Alessi, Tacchini, MUJI, BREE and The city of Munich
Glithero are British designer Tim Simpson and Dutch designer Sarah van Gameren. From their studio in London they create product, furniture, and time-based installations.
Sebastian Herkner is german designer running his own design studio in Offenbach am Main. He has designed products for manufacturers such as ClassiCon, Very Wood by Gervasoni, Moroso, Sancal, La Chance and Rosenthal, as well as working on interior design projects and for exhibitions and museums.
Philippe Malouin is Canadian designer operating from his studio in London. He set up his studio in 2009 after working for English designer Tom Dixon. He has diverse portfolio for clients such as Roll & Hill, 1882 ltd., Kvadrat, Established & Sons, Umbra Shift and Caesarstone.
Nicolas le Moigne
Nicolas le Moigne is a Swiss designer and a professor at ECAL/University of art and design in Lausanne. He works for companies such as Eternit or Atelier Pfister and galleries in London, Paris, Berlin or Mexico.
Yael Mer and Shay Alkalay is duo behind Raw Edges studio. They met in Jerusalem and moved to London to study at the Royal College of Art. After graduating and after not finding ‘proper’ jobs, Yael and Shay set up their own design studio. They designed for heavyweights such as Moroso and Luois Vuitton.
Studio Swine (Super Wide Interdisciplinary New Explorers) is an Anglo-Japanese design studio cofounded by Architect Azusa Murakami and Artist Alexander Groves.
Nao Tamura is a Japanese designer studied communication design at Parsons School of Design in New York. She later founded her studio in Tokyo and is currently based in New York City.
Katharina Mischer and Thomas Traxler found mischer’traxler studio in Vienna where they develop and design objects, furniture, processes and installations focusing on experiments and conceptual thinking within a given contex.
Max Lamb is a London based designer who “explores both traditional and unconventional materials and processes, blending experimentation and rationale to create furniture and products that are both honest and intelligible”.
Lee Broom is a UK based product & interior designers. Since 2007 he has released over 75 furniture and lighting products, which he designs and manufactures under his own label and has created more than 20 products for other brands. He has also designed over 40 commercial retail, restaurant, bar and residential interiors.
Lars Beller Fjetland
Lars Beller Fjetland is a designer from Norway who graduated with a Bachelors’ Degree from Bergen National Academy of the Arts in 2012. His Cloche Lamp is awarded with “Elle Decor Award” as lamp of the year 2013.
The Hansen Family
The Hansen Family is a Finnish studio founded by designer Gesa Hansen who grew up in a scandinavian family of carpenters, designers and architects. After graduating at the Bauhaus-University and stopping at a few design studios such as Jean Nouvel and H5 in Paris, and the NDC in Tokyo, she decided to create her own label, combining new design and family savoir-faire in the family atelier.
Formadantasma is Amsterdam based studio founded by Italian designers Andrea Trimarchi and Simone Farresin. They graduated in 2009. at Design Academy Eindhoven. Their work has been part of permanent collection in places such as New York’s MoMA, London’s Victoria and Albert, New York’s Metropolitan Museum, Chicago Art Institute, Textiel Museum in Tilburg, Stedelijk’s-Hertogenbosch, MUDAC Lausanne, Mint Museum of Craft and Design in North Carolina the Mak Museum in Vienna.
Fabien Cappello is a product and furniture designer based in London. His studio is founded in 2010 and since he worked in different contexts – from commercial objects and limited editions to public environments for clients Arts Co, Bloomberg, British Council, Gallery Libby Sellers, Gallery Nilufar Milano, Kvadrat, The Contemporary Art Society, The New Craftsmen, Stanley Picker Gallery and Fondazione Claudio Buziol.
david/nicolas is a design studio from Beirut co-founded by David Raffoul and Nicolas Moussallem in 2011. They have been selected as an upcoming star of Milan design week 2014. by the New York Times.
Daniel Rybakken is a Scandinavian designer who operates studios in both Sweden and Norway. He has received numerous awards, including the ‘Best of the Best’ Red Dot Award in Singapore in 200, the Anders Jahre’s Cultural Prize for Young Artists in Oslo in 2008 and the Design Report Award for best designer at Salone Satellite in Milan in 2009.
Alexis Georgacopoulos is a Greece-born designer who lives and works in Lausanne, Switzerland where he runs his own design studio. He worked with brands such as B&B Italia, Serralunga, Ligne Roset, Team by Wellis, Boffi, Christofle, Swarovski and Nestlé.
Bethan Laura Wood
Bethan Laura Wood is British designer graduated from the Royal College of Art, where she studied under the tuition of Jurgen Bey and Martino Gamper. Her work has been widely exhibited, most recently at the ICA, Serpentine Gallery, V&A Museum of Childhood, Geffrye Museum, Swiss Institute New York and Dutch Design Week 2014.
