A sculptural day bed? A wavy furniture ocean? A body-shaped space for meditative relaxation? Ernst and Jensen have designed Waves, which is all these things and more. An unconventional piece of furniture for the public space and formal waiting areas. A tangible conversation piece. Waves was created for Erik Jørgensen’s first talent competition in 1994 that was held to mark the company’s 40th anniversary. The two architecture students designed the piece together and won – and since then, the duo has designed several ground-breaking Erik Jørgensen products, including the sofa series In Duplo, the table series Insula and the easy chair Ginko.
