Matali Crasset's rendition of the cheval mirror (psyché) - an archetype that existed in abundance between 1800 and 1930 - celebrates the ritual of dressing. The three lengths of beveled, hand-silvered glass stand both as a mirror and as a dressing screen. The mirror is made of heavier drawn glass which produces a kinder, softer cast of light that is further enhanced by the hand-applied silver backing.

The front cantilevered mirrored panels each stand delicately atop slender wooden legs glimpsed from underneath. The outer edge of the mirror is left as clear glass and is finished with an asymmetric Vauxhall beveled perimeter which produces a more subtle seam.

The rear is as beautifully finished as the front, and is made of the finest goat hide, custom-dyed then hand-cut and stitched. Hanging from the rear and ready for a single gown to be hung nestled within the lattice-work of the asymmetric slender wood and bronze frames is a single, permanently affixed bespoke wooden hanger.
