Martin Ballendat Podera Chair
A successful synthesis of purist, elegant design and top craftsmanship - this is the podera chair, an innovation from TEAM 7 which celebrates its premiere at the imm cologne 2008. The elegant cantilever chair has been designed by Martin Ballendat. With its contrast between material, design and function the podera conforms to the company philosophy "design meets nature".
Due to a sophisticated combination of materials in the construction of the podera chair, the cool lines of the cantilever are lent warmth by the sensual natural wood. The design appeals because of two innovations. The seat and backrest in solid natural wood are formed ergonomically and fully demonstrate the skilled craftsmanship of TEAM 7. The podera chair is also technically innovative.
For the first time, due to special CNC technology, a steel tube was able to be curved over the top edge of the chair without a sink mark. This was previously only possible using aluminium which is too soft for a cantilevered chair. The natural wood surfaces of the seats and backrests are available in the woods; walnut, cherry, oak, maple, core beech, beech and alder. The frame is either matt or in shining chrome. With its concentrated design and functional character the podera is a must for everyone who appreciates aesthetic design.
