Segment by Marie Declerck, Rémi Bouhaniche and Amaury Poudray was originally created in concrete for the terrace of the Paul Bocuse institute in Lyon. By playing with the block’s proportions the designers have accentuated subtly and faithfully the monolithic aspect. Conceived to be used as seating, Segment can also be used as a side table or a coffee table. The cold metallised effect, either rubbed or polished, which has been applied to every surface allows for greater adaptability, and makes it look as made of one piece. Its wooden core keeps the object light whilst retaining the aesthetic qualities of metal.
