Marie-Aurore Stiker-Metral La Pliée Chair
La Pliée was developed under the umbrella of the ‘aides à projet VIA’
by ENSCI student Marie-Aurore Stiker-Metral. LA PLIEE means ‘the folded
one.’ Made from a sheet of laser-cut steel, which is folded and shaped
like origami, in such a way that it achieves not only stability and
natural rigidity but also a true aesthetic personality: Light, skittish
and dynamic (rear feet and back support in the shape of oblique
aeroplane wings in the spirit of Jean Prouvé); slim, overhanging seat.
Complete structure in laser-cut, folded, shaped and welded sheet steel
finished in black, white or red lacquer. Optional slim leather cushion
for seat.
