In different yet complementary shapes, volumes of blown and frosted glass, cut by a series of horizontal lines of varying thickness that are arranged in an intentionally casual manner, filter and modulate the intensity of light with a special chiaroscuro effect.

The poetry and the lightness of Rituals treading between the East and West, its rarefaction and materiality draw their inspiration from traditional Japanese lanterns, bringing a suffused and precious light to a variety of settings. The refined lighting effect emphasised by the delicately rounded shape and by the signs of glass grinding following a special process, recalls an ancient artisanal creations.

The magic of rice paper and mulberry tree bark, the raw materials of the ritual lanterns, is re-interpreted by Ludovica + Roberto Palomba and visible in the full body of the glass selected, which retains its decorative value even when the lamp is switched off.In the table versions, the volume of Rituals appears almost as if it were floating in mid-air, suspended on metal feet that underscore the light weight of the shapes. Both table and suspension versions are perfect for use individually or in an harmonious composition of the three distinct shapes. In the suspension version, the use of a multiple ceiling flange allows the creation of a composition of between three and nine lamps in order to create a cloud of light.
