In the work of Bertjan Pot the concept of skin frequently emerges: Wieki is an essential chair with a modernist flair upholstered with a skin which does not serve any kind of structural function but, rather, creates a textile technology appearance which is both startling and attractive in its simplicity.

The designer describes it as follows: The wieki chair came from the wish to make a chair that asks to be touched and seen, also in places where otherwise shiny surfaces can be expected but without loosing the quality and silhouette of a modernist chair. The metal pipes are covered in tubular textile that is normally used to keep the filament of a rope together. A fabric that allows many patterns and color combination. Now a woman wearing a short skirt does not have to shiver from the cold steel when she accidentally brushes her bare leg against the metal frame'

Upholstered seating and back covered with different fabrics. Steel frame upholstered with fabric made of interwoven polyester fibre in standard colours 'Concrete' grey and 'Classic' orange.
