With the Grand Repos lounge chair, Vitra and Antonio Citterio bring a new quality of comfort and motion to the world of living.

With its generous padding, inviting armrests and high back, Grand Repos visually exudes the kind of comfort that only a large, swivel lounge chair can offer. Its design is a reference to this type of chair, while its clean lines and elegance have the unmistakeable signature of architect Antonio Citterio.

Its shape, however, is the result of Grand Repo’s construction and biomechanical design: The backrest and seat move independently of one another and can be adjusted to various opening angles – from a comfortable sitting position to a relaxing resting position. A concealed synchronised spring-tension mechanism automatically adjusts to the user’s weight and gently lowers the seat when the backrest is tilted backwards. This transformation in the angle of the seat and back means supreme sitting comfort and optimum back support throughout the entire, smooth range of motion. The chair can also be locked in any position.

Grand Repos is available in a variety of leather and fabric qualities, with decorative seams that lend the chair a distinctly contemporary, almost technical flair. The four- star base made of die-cast aluminium comes in polished and coloured, powder- coated versions.

Antonio Citterio (*1950 in Meda) and Vitra have been collaborating successfully for more than 25 years, the whole time working intensively on the exigencies of healthy, dynamic office seating. They have now brought to bear their experience from numerous developmental projects in the Grand Repos project for living spaces.

The upholstered small Panchina bench can be used as a simple, universal seating possibility or as a matching ottoman to Antonio Citterio’s Grand Repos lounge chair.
Simple, compact occasional furniture that serves a thousand different purposes fulfils a critical complementary function in many interiors. Panchina is that kind of furniture – its elongated seating surface makes the four-legged, upholstered bench ideal as an informal seating option opposite a sofa, as a footrest for the lounge chair or even for storage in the foyer.

Panchina is available with a leather or fabric cover, and with polished aluminium or powder-coated aluminium legs in various colours. Thanks to its formally subtle design, Panchina can be used as an informal seating possibility in any living space or waiting room.
